These are some of the things I asked elsewhere, not really expecting a response more hoping that they are getting tweaked by release or that they are already set up for release.
-Snipe being more like Vivisect, that being the character being known to attacked character, allowing for more open use. I figure that with part of the ideas WAS that snipe was going to be nerfed it probably already got looked at. Just somewhat hoping this will be part of the deal.
-Backstab being like other attacks, the main thing here is that when you backstab as opposed to any other attack I do from out of range, my character auto advances to try to get into range of attack. This just isn't happening with backstab.
-I'll call it a 'fencing' style of attack, rapid attacks with a lighter weapon to wipe the floor of their balance or standing so that you can open them up to a more piercing attack.
-Skill and combat combo question, is their going to be skill based combat feats somewhere in this progression.
-This is something I threw into the Paladin folder, a shielding form of defending, where the person focus is on aligning the shield and their body for best defense, attacking pulls one out of shielding form, somewhat a 'hiding' of the shield primary skillset (see it available to everyone just Paladins be more kick butt in it and there was a special ability for Paladins at high enough ranks/circle).

How is the new update going to affect the stealth combat moves? IE Poach, snipe, and ambush in particular and I'd be interested in knowing how its going to change backstab as well. Some players like to be able to attack from hiding for at least the first move. Would still like them to be a valid way to attack.

How is this going to work with death? Will this mean being crippled for that much longer after dying? Not meaning duration of the sting, but more being able to pick things up, climb, swim, etc.

>The way I see dualwield is that its dps should overall be roughly near that of a two-handed weapon
I was 2HE main for years, until I heard about rumors of the shield penalty, then I switched to HE. I toyed with the idea of training offhand simply because it'd be fun, but haven't gotten around to it yet, but if I was to become a dual wielding barbarian with HE weapons, I would expect my damage to greatly exceed that of two-handed weapons. Let's do some math here.
My steel partisan currently appraises as:
low (3/26) puncture damage
very extreme (16/26) slice damage
great (11/26) impact damage
and 82 stones, while my broadsword appraises at:
poor (2/26) puncture damage
severe (13/26) slice damage
moderate (7/26) impact damage
and 52 stones.
if I was to dual wield my broadsword, I should expect something near double the damage, depending on the off-hand skill. Perhaps that could be percentage based. To make it easy, let's say I have 100 HE ranks exactly. If I had 50% of that in Offhand (50 OH ranks) I could expect half again as much stats. My off hand would appraises as 1/26 6/26 3/26, and be essentially "added" onto my main, giving me a rough bonus of half again as much. So if I had 100 OH and HE, it would be like swinging a full broadsword in both hands, which would greatly exceed my two-handed partisan. Whether or not that is fair or not is up for debate though.
>How is this going to work with death?
Ask the empath who healed you to cast refresh on you? Or a nearby war mage to throw up a zypher?
My question is how is brawling going to be fixed? and more importantly, and not entirely sure if this is the right folder to ask, but will CHOKE become more effective than it currently is for PvP?

Heyo!
To forestall all the questions about stealth combat -- I am not going to be dealing with core stealth issues like the questions about stalking and grouping during this rewrite, so I'm not really in a position to comment on them. They do need to be addressed, but they are outside the scope of Combat 3.0. On the other hand, any melee or missile attack will be part of Combat 3.0, so yes, backstab, ambush, poach, and snipe will ultimately fall under the Combat 3.0 mechanics, just like they ultimately run through the current combat mechanics now. At the present time, I'm not really planning to change anything other than making sure they remain compatible and playable with the new Combat 3.0 mechanics, so ideally they should still work roughly like they do now. Once Combat 3.0 is more firmly in place, we'll review the stealth attacks and see if anything needs to be adjusted.

Thanks for the reply. I was just concerned that the combat 3.0 would really hurt those of us that like to use stealth in combat.

Have a paladin glyph ease on you or an empath cast refresh. Hope this helped.

I thought I read somewhere that fatigue will regen slowly in combat, but at a faster rate outside of combat.
So unless you die, depart, and instantly enter into combat, just wait for your fatigue to regen, because you'll get back to normal levels outside of combat faster than if you were in the thick of it.

^Real answer. Can someone confirm that please? Because yes, I am talking about what happens after SRE. And no, I am not asking for advice on regaining fatigue.

I would be interested to know if these combat changes encourage the swapping of weapons during a fight, so that you start with a good balanced/lighter weapon to gain the upper hand and then swap to a big hitter for a couple of big shots and then swap back to regain fatigue and balance and so on.
Assuming one has roughly equal skills in both weapon sets.

Or are using the Small Edge skill. Lead off with the light jabber then swap to the heavy scimitar and you won't have to worry about learning rates in two skills.

Not a bad idea, or use a weighted cutlass if you got the strength to make use of it.
