Some additional data:
Hunting with a full suite of WM Buffs (I end up with +reflex, +agility, +parry, +evasion, +armor on the defensive side of things, in both sets).
15 minutes of hunting in chain yielded zero injuries. (I regularly hunt there with no or light injuries for hours).
7 minutes of hunting in plate yielded me having to retreat to heal due to having multiple internal and external bleeders. I could not retreat in plate without first casting Thunderclap and THEN removing my body armor while the critters were stunned.
Chain Armor: 426 47%
Plate Armor: 443 34%
Evasion: 550 09%
Parry Ability: 586 36%
Shield Usage: 521 20%
Defending: 546 93%
The gap between armor and my other defenses is because I was plate primary when 3.0 hit and switched to wearing chain to train it up from zero when it became no longer viable. I did not use YS prior to 3.0 because it didn't function with damite armor, so it's not simply a matter of me losing YS's overpoweredness.

I forgot to mention this, but this is while hunting Malchata, and only factoring in their melee attacks (I was running with AC on at the time and their fireballs reflect back 100% of the time).

>>Having read through these comments, I've now decided to do what I'm guessing the majority of warrior mages will have already done or will eventually do.... I've bought some chain armor and I'll stick to that. I'll wear full chain when needed, and in training I'll just keep wearing patched armors to get the ranks (which are now technically just tdp generators).<<
There is a light plate in Brig armor if that helps.

As Starlear said, if you aren't mixing, you didn't lose a full value(unless, I'll admit, the high ranges are equivalent to several "levels" of hindrance and going from high to low end very is like going from moderate to somewhat). However if you were to ask what I consider viable? Being able to get a full suit of plate to low/mid "Rather" hindrance with just rare materials, like Lumium. Considering damite chain came in at "somewhat" that still leaves room for Brig in the "moderate" range.
Of course, I'd be just as happy if hindrance did other things for penalties instead of just percentile decrease to my other defensive skills.
Cheers.

>Hello everyone. After much testing, we have decided to slightly reduce armor hindrance for Brigandine and Plate armor for armor secondary and tertiary Guilds. The bigger change, however, is a moderate reduction in the mixing penalty.

No, not yet. I'll try to get it out tonight.

Ok, great. That explains why I was underwhelmed this weekend when I tested out a new armor setup.
