Your post made perfect sense, Raziaar, and can be distilled to a single point:
A sense of mystery and awe can not stand scrutiny.
The more we experience in our setting, the less potent the setting becomes. And even beyond that: Would Blackfire be all consuming if it was balanced for PC use ('Dark Heart of Incineration' not withstanding)? Would the Y'shai be powerful and fearsome if Moon Mage PCs could become them? Would the 'iffin World Dragon be worth all that grief if it was an actual MOB in the game?
Some mysteries need to never be solved, and some things left entirely to the imagination.

You hug Atladene, who whispers in your ear, "Don't lose faith. Lanival will return."

lol no...
From the cleric event last month:
>Brivibas says, "Karszen, The Sunderer of Maelshyve, your aid is required."
Info on Maelshyve, and its sundering, is on the Gemstone III website (Official Elanthian History, page 2, Part III,) and makes very interesting reading right now, what with the in-game events, the current state of the Prydaen and Rakash homelands, and Solomon's maddening hints...
Then again, it's probably just coincidence that everything seems to fit together like that... Right?

Aye, and it's resulted in my not having voted for DR on TMS lately, since I haven't run across one of his posts with that handy voting link. :-P
