VegasCon 2009 09/09/2008 11:39 AM CDT
So now that SimuCon's come and gone, it's time to start thinking about VegasCon. I know Feburary's a long time away, but who's been planning on going?

Depending on the hotel situation (roomates, etc) I spend about 400. That includes my hotel room without a roomate for 4 days and spending money. YMMV.

Actually, not as bad I would have imagined. I am not much for roommates so if I go I will opt for that route myself.

Well if you see shows or gamble it can get pretty pricy

one year my girlfriend and myself spent 600 on a couple shows, Blue man group and Ka. They were worth it though.

Last year I won 400 on penny slots and like 200 on craps so that helped out.

Heyo!

VegasCon can be done fairly cheap if you can resist the urge to gamble excessively and avoid the high price ticket shows (don't get me wrong, the high priced shows are usually worth every penny, but Vegas has dozens of very cheap or free shows as well that are entertaining in their own right). I've successfully managed VegasCon on a budget of under $200 a couple of times now while still having a grand ol' time. Granted, I usually go for a roommate, but that's more because I have a deep-seated aversion to paying for a room I'm only going to be using 6 hours a day tops, and most of that time sound asleep.

VegasCon 2009 Rates/Dates 12/16/2008 12:36 AM CST
Hi everyone! With just about 3 months to go, we have nailed down dates and rates for VegasCon 2009. The room rates are very reasonable for a March in Vegas, especially since that is typically a busy convention season for them. The rooms have been negotiated for the Sahara again.

In addition to the sleeping room rates listed below, we can have a small hospitality suite that would accommodate 20 people at a time. The Celebrity Suite is no longer an option as they have transformed it into a fitness center.

I hope you folks will be able to attend.

Zadie
(room rates below)

SLEEPING ROOMS:

We are currently able to hold 20 rooms for the following dates you requested. This rate is based on single or double occupancy.

Deluxe Rooms:

3/5/09 - $56.00

3/6/09 - $115.00

3/7/09 - $115.00

**This rate does not include the following charges:

? Prevailing room tax (9%,)

? Facility Fee ($6.00 per room per night) this includes energy surcharges, unlimited local calls and access to the fitness center.

? Please add $20.00 per person per night for triple or quadruple occupancy

? Four (4) people per room maximum

Just had to point this out!

Southwest Airlines is running 50% off promotion for all fairs to Las Vegas from January 13 through March 11. The flights must be booked between December 30 and 31.

Note, taxes, and fees are extra, and are not covered by the 50% off promotion.

Are they going to be orderable through Simu again, or is there some other way to order them?

If Simu, they don't seem to be up in the ticketable events at this time...

There is a block of rooms set aside at the Sahara, so just use the code "Dragonrealms Vegascon" when you book your reservation.
