I highly recommend not using your holy weapon to train. I understand there might be RP reasons, but OOC there isn't any significant advantage to it and yeah, charging it can become a real pain in that case even if you have ~1000 charges, which is probably around what you get at high end. I only pull out the HW for special occasions, like sparring events, invasions and quests. I attend at least one of those, usually 2+, per week and I rarely need to charge it to keep it strong.
You can do other stuff while you pray to charge your holy weapon, by the way. You can buff yourself or start a research project while you pray for 5 minutes. So if you're the masochistic type, you can spell up while charging your weapon before heading into combat.
Lennon pretty much nailed the problems with HW, except I'd lump limited recharge locations/holy icons with number 1. Even though travel isn't a huge obstacle these days, it can be more than a minor inconvenience.

Yes, sir. It's part of Akigwe's. I think you have to do every puzzle in order to see it as a prize. I was so sad when my group missed one, but I still really like my lootsack.

I didn't even know about that one. I got mine at Dunshade (yes, even the new version has it):
Large gleaming icon of polished steel shaped to resemble a thirteen-pointed star

I use my holy weapon all the time as my primary weapon. I have no problem keeping it charged. I do have an icon but when I'm near a town that has the altar I use that since it gives more strikes. I very rarely have an issue with running out of charges, I just make sure to charge it every time I repair my armor.

Oh good, they are still semi available. I never think to look as I rarely have the spare scratch for quests, and well, am one of the very lucky few who got one.

You tap a wiirwood icon carved into the likeness of a noble lion that you are holding.

There appears to be something written on it.
